YMCA Newcomer Services ensures eligible newcomers to Canada receive appropriate English language training and settlement services including assessment of needs, orientation, information and referral, and labour market information in order to feel welcomed in the community and to participate socially, culturally and economically. These services are supported by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Settlement.org – This website provides newcomers with the helpful tools and answers they need for settling in, or immigrating to, Ontario, Canada. Information is available in 30 languages.
New Youth.ca –This website is a place for young (Grade 7-12) newcomers to find reliable information and services to access. Available in French in English.
International Children’s Digital Library – A free digital library with books in a wide variety of languages. A great resource to continue to develop literacy skills in first languages.
Mental Health supports are available within our schools should your child require these services to support their mental health and well being. Please notify the school administrator if you have any concerns
Translation services will be provided in special circumstances to honour the student and families first language.
Translation/Interpretive supports are available upon request. Please notify the school administrator should you require these services and they will set it up.

Beginning the week of July 6, the TLDSB Lindsay Education Centre is open to the public Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Muskoka Education Centre is closed to the public over the break.
All school buildings will be closed to the public for the summer break beginning Monday, July 6, reopening on Tuesday, September 1.
The first day of school for both elementary and secondary students is Tuesday, September 8. Note, Kindergarten students will have a staggered start.
