Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) is committed to the success of each student and building strong relationships with parents and the community. School-to-home communication is key to the overall success of a child, ensuring that parents stay informed about activities, news, and events that enhance their child’s life.
In an effort to improve parent and community engagement, TLDSB has many methods to communicate important information to your home.
Technology has made communication easier than ever before. Today, many parents/guardians use email, websites, social media, or text subscriptions when they want to receive important news. TLDSB wants you to receive information when you want and how you want, through SchoolMessenger.
SchoolMessenger is a parent notification service that lets us communicate easily with you about the things that matter most. Things like school news, events, and important or urgent news from our Board you can receive through a phone call, email, text message, and/or app notifications.
Any text messages from your school will come from the number 978338. We suggest that you add this to your contact list in your cell phone with the name “TLDSB.” This way, the caller ID feature on your phone will show that the message is from Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
Using the SchoolMessenger app or website, parents can determine how they would like to receive various message types via any combination of phone call (home, cell or both), text message, email, and/or app notification.

TLDSB has an eflyer distribution system called Peachjar. This exciting program allows approved community flyers to be posted online and emailed directly to parents’ inboxes.
Each school has its own Peachjar webpage that parents can view by clicking on the Peachjar button on the school website homepage. It’s easy to find, view, and share eflyers. They’re a great way to pass information along to family and friends – and are shareable via social media! This system helps our schools reduce paper amounts, reduce copy costs, and relieve a significant administrative burden from our teachers, office staff, and volunteers.
Parents, please visit the Peachjar website to register. This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. You even have the option to have these eflyers delivered right to your inbox! Your email address will never be shared or used for any other purpose, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
If you have children in multiple schools, you can add more schools by logging in, selecting “My Account”, then “User Settings” and “Add School.”
To view school-approved eflyers, simply click the Peachjar button on your school’s website homepage.
This “green” initiative provides parents with better access to information about school programs, activities, and events.
TLDSB supports the efforts of community groups, and organizations that sponsor activities of an educational nature for students by distributing materials electronically via Peachjar. As a community member, you need to register for an account with Peachjar. Information from outside organizations will no longer be posted in school newsletters.
If all activities offered by your organization are free:
If all of your activities are at no charge to the community, then create an account, and contact [email protected]. She will ensure that you are considered for a free account with Peachjar.
If activities with your organization require a participation fee:
Community organizations are subject to Peachjar’s service fee when they post a flyer to promote an activity or event with a participation fee. Peachjar’s service fee also applies to activities that are held without charge but may lead to participating in a program or activity with a fee (eg. a flyer for a free soccer tryout to encourage registration). If you have concerns about meeting the costs, please email [email protected] and we may be able to assist on a case-by-case basis. See pricing details on the Peachjar website.
If some activities with your organization have a participation fee and some are free activities:
Some organizations offer free programs or events as well as activities or events with a service fee. If this is the case, the easiest option is to create two accounts with Peachjar – one will be used for your fee-based activities, the other for your free events. Once you have created the two accounts, contact [email protected] so that she can adjust one of your accounts to not charge a service fee when you post.
Please note: we do not accept flyers to be sent out to parents from for-profit organizations unless it is from the school for a fundraiser or other school activity.
