Letter from the director of education to families: Parkview Public School boundary review – June 26

Dear parents/guardians of Parkview Public School,

I am writing to share an update with you about the school catchment boundary review for Parkview Public School (PPS).

At the June 13, Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) Regular Meeting of the Board, superintendent of Business Services, Tim Ellis, provided an update on recent boundary and capacity reviews taking place throughout the Board. Upon consultation with the City of Kawartha Lakes, it is evident that more dwellings are expected in the Lindsay area than what was previously considered. As a result, a recommendation was put forward to postpone the completion of the PPS boundary review to allow for more time to review all options for consideration until a meeting in the fall. This motion was approved by the trustees.

In the fall, families of PPS, as well as surrounding schools will be invited to a community consultation meeting. Following this meeting, options will be taken to the TLDSB Board of Trustees for approval.

Once the review is complete, families within the group of schools affected will receive the details in a communication from the school. Any changes will take effect September 2024.

All information about this review can be found on the PPS Boundary Review page on the Board’s website.

If you have any questions, contact your child’s school directly.

Sincerely,

Wes Hahn
Director of Education
Trillium Lakelands District School Board
