TLDSB students take part in Georgian College Taste of the Trades event

On December 19 and 20, Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) Grade 10 students from the Muskoka area secondary schools were invited to attend a Taste of the Trades event, hosted by Georgian College.

Throughout the two days, students from Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School, Gravenhurst High School, and Huntsville High School participated in various workshops to gain exposure to various skilled trades, receive feedback from instructors while also having the opportunity to ask questions. This college environment experience was a great way for students to gain an understanding of what a college course might be like.

Workshops over the two days included plumbing, construction techniques, electrical, and mechanical technician.

A similar event took place last school year for secondary schools in the south area of the Board.
