On May 17, Muskoka Pride hosted a Muskoka Queer Film Festival at the Rene M. Caisse Theatre at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School (BMLSS) to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
Members from the Trillium Lakelands District School Board Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Club from I.E. Weldon Secondary School, Haliburton Highlands Secondary School, BMLSS, Gravenhurst High School, and Huntsville High School attended the festival. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to view 14 diverse films that celebrated two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual plus (2SLGBTQIA+) identities.
