In partnership with Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic School Board (PVNCCDSB), Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) presents Time Immemorial – an Indigenous Speaker Series!
Through this virtual speaker series, Indigenous Elders, Scholars, Authors, and Knowledge Keepers will broaden and deepen attendee’s understanding of what it means to be Indigenous to these lands and waters in the context of time immemorial.

Dr. Niigaanwewidam James Sinclair
Dr. Niigaanwewidam James Sinclair is Anishinaabe and originally from St. Peter’s (Little Peguis) Indian Settlement near Selkirk, Manitoba. He is a regular commentator on Indigenous issues for CTV, CBC, and APTN. He is a columnist with the Winnipeg FreePress, an associate Professor with the University of Manitoba, and a recovering high school teacher.
Niigaan Sinclair will speak to us about the rich history of Indigenous Literature and how those literatures can help us to better understand what it means to have been here since time immemorial.
Time Immemorial: Restoring our Relationship with the Land

Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer
Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer is a mother, scientist, decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She is the author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, which has earned Kimmerer wide acclaim.
She will share her thinking about our relationship with the lands and waters. She will ask us to consider our role in this relationship and how we can work to restore this relationship.
