Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) is excited to partner with LEARNstyle to provide students living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) a virtual camp experience in November and December. Through the Robotics Coding Virtual Camp, students will learn computation problem-solving strategies and basic coding concepts through graphical and block code. Students have the opportunity to build friendships through a shared interest in computers, coding, and robotics.
Who?
Students with ASD who are in Grades 4-12 during the 2023-2024 school year and who the school team feels would benefit from and participate in social skills instruction. Students must be motivated to participate in a virtual group learning session using Google Meet for 90 minutes a day, once a week.
Students without an identification of ASD are welcome to apply and will be offered acceptance if space permits.
When?
This five-week camp will run during the weeks of November 7 to December 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. either on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
What does the program look like?
- Five, 90-minute virtual sessions of group and self-paced coding activities.
- A partnership with parents/guardians (and students) in order to enhance student participation and success.
- One LEARNstyle coach per group of five students.
- NEW coding sessions are available this year for students who have previously participated in the program.

Please complete the online registration form by Friday, October 20. Please note, spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
NOTE: acceptance into the Robotics coding virtual camp is by invitation only based on the applications received, as we need to ensure our numbers remain at a level to match our staffing allocation. We will do our best to accommodate as many students as possible.
