Ridgewood Public School celebrates their new playground

Ridgewood Public School (RPS) marked the opening of their brand new playground with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 1!

Students and staff were joined by the school community and heard remarks from school principal, Jane Austin, student representative, Kara Liscombe, and School Council representative, Trish Rintoul Fritsch. Attendees also enjoyed a hot dog lunch generously provided by the School Council and the Kinmount and District Lions Club.

“This beautiful, accessible playground is a gift from the heart of our community to the future of our children,” said Austin. “The incredible efforts of everyone at Ridgewood has left a lasting legacy that will foster health, happiness, and inclusive play for decades to come.”

The new edition to the school was made possible through fundraising by the School Council and generous donations from local businesses, fire departments, community groups, and service clubs, along with the commitment of the school’s families, staff, and students.
