Ridgewood Public School celebrates Pride month

Throughout the month of June, Ridgewood Public School (RPS) organized a number of initiatives to celebrate Pride Month and foster an environment of diversity and inclusion.

The Inclusion Jam Fest was the first event held on June 3, where students had the opportunity to show their true colours through music and movement.

On June 10, classes participated in a suncatcher activity, as a symbolic reminder that we shine brighter together.

The school community gathered on June 17 to decorate the surrounding sidewalks with inspirational messages centred on inclusion, kindness, and love.

The month of celebrations concluded on June 24 with the Annual Rainbow Picnic. Attendees celebrated community and inclusion as they took part in a number of activities, such as a colour run, slip and slide, dunk tank, jumping castle, and barbecue.

A huge shout out to the School Council, the Kinmount and District Lions Club, and Violet’s Frozen Yogurt Truck for their contributions to the picnic!
