On September 22, Queen Victoria Public School (QVPS) students took part in the annual Terry Fox Run.
Leading up to the day, students were challenged to collect coins, with an overall fundraising goal of $400. Students went above and beyond this goal, raising a total of $800 in nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies, and toonies, which will all be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation to support cancer research.
There was one other fundraising incentive for students – to pie the principal and teachers in the face! At the end of the day, students and staff took part in an outdoor assembly, which included having the students and class who collected the most coins pie principal Bill Thompson, and QVPS teacher’s in the face.
