Professional Activity Day – June 5, 2026

On June 5, Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) teaching staff, educational assistants (EA), and early childhood educators from all schools across the Board will be participating in professional development in-person, focusing on report card writing and reporting to parents/guardians. Below is the format that will be taking place throughout the day for each group:

Elementary

Length: Full day
Topic: Report card writing and reporting to parents/guardians
Entity hosting: TLDSB
Presenter(s)/facilitator(s): School administrators
Description: The day is dedicated to report card preparation, reporting to parents/guardians, and ongoing communication between school and home. Designated early childhood educators are expected to collaborate with Kindergarten teachers in preparing the communication of learning reports for Junior and Senior Kindergarten students.

EAs with current Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) certification will participate in a half day recertification training course. The other half of the day is to be spent at their homeschool with a focus on the preparation of transition packages for the students that they are working with.

Summer break information

Beginning the week of July 6, the TLDSB Lindsay Education Centre is open to the public Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Muskoka Education Centre is closed to the public over the break.

All school buildings will be closed to the public for the summer break beginning Monday, July 6, reopening on Tuesday, September 1.

The first day of school for both elementary and secondary students is Tuesday, September 8. Note, Kindergarten students will have a staggered start.
