Protect yourself online
Aside from creating secure passwords, there are other best practices to increase one’s digital security. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
- Install security software such as anti-virus and anti-spyware protection, ensure it is automatically updating, and set up system scans on at least a weekly basis.
- Keep your software (including your web browser) and operating system updated and enable automatic updates.
- Use caution when downloading files off the internet and ensure the source is trusted.
- Clear your web browser cache frequently.
- Don’t save your credentials in the web browser.
- Change the default password on all devices as soon as you get them.

Sleep and mental health
As parents, we know that sleep and mood are connected. If your child has poor sleep they might be irritable and easily stressed. Here are three words to begin with to help improve your child’s sleep habit:

Take it Outside
Being active is an important way to take care of ourselves and our families during this challenging time.
Kids thrive on being physically active every day. Their bodies and brains depend on it. In addition to growing a healthy body, physical activity boosts memory, learning, creativity and self-esteem.
Outdoor play is a natural way for kids to learn and be physically active. Play outside and in nature supports activity for longer periods of time and can lower feelings of stress and anxiety.
As we shift into summer, this is a chance to look for more opportunities to take play and learning outside. We can still do this while physical distancing from others when required.
