Monck Public School donates food items to local food bank

Throughout the month of October, Monck Public School’s Leadership Team ran a “We Scare Away Hunger” food drive as an opportunity for the whole school to give back to their community and raise awareness on the issue of food insecurity.

The team organized and collected non-perishable food items over three-weeks. Each item donated was exchanged for a ballot, which was put in a bucket. At the school’s Halloween assembly, the winning ballot was drawn and the winner got to pie the principal and two vice principals in the face.

The school collected over 1,900 food items to donate to the local Manna Food Drive to help families in Bracebridge.

Good job, Monck PS!
