Message from the Director of Education – December 13, 2020

Dear TLDSB families,

As we approach the end of the year and the holiday break, I would like to take the time to thank all of our staff, students, and families for your patience and understanding as we worked, and are still working, through these challenging times. Your effort and dedication to learning has not gone unnoticed.

I know this holiday season will look different for all of us, but I encourage you to take the time for self-care and do things that bring you and your loved ones joy. Focusing on your mental health and well-being will be so important over the next few weeks. It is also imperative that we continue to adhere to ministry and public health guidelines over the holidays. Ensuring you are limiting close contact to the people you live with, maintaining physical distancing, wearing a face mask in public settings, and staying home if you are sick will ensure we are doing our part to stop the spread of COVID-19. It has been highly recommended by our local health units to avoid non-essential travel over the holidays, but if you must travel within Ontario, please consider the risks and monitor yourself for symptoms. And as always, we will do our best to keep you as up-to-date as possible in these times of change.

I wish you all the best for a restful holiday, and extend the deepest of gratitude for all you’re doing to support the students of Trillium Lakelands District School Board.

Happy holidays and see you all in the new year!

Sincerely,

Wes Hahn
