Local students receive scholarships from the Huntsville Festival of the Arts

Six local Huntsville students have been awarded scholarships to foster the development of their performing arts talent. Through the Huntsville Festival of the Arts, the scholarship program provides financial assistance for youth (junior and senior) who are currently studying, or who plan to pursue studies in music, theatre, or dance. Congratulations to the following recipients and all students who enjoy participating in the arts!

The 2022 recipient for the senior scholarship is Huntsville High School (HHS) Grade 12 student, Oscar Finn, who will be pursuing a Bachelor of Music in the jazz program at Humber College*.

The 2022 recipients for the junior scholarships include:

Riverside Public School Grade 8 student, Annalise Duffield, who will be applying the scholarship toward tuition and dance fees at the Muskoka Dance Academy*.

V.K. Greer Memorial Public School Grade 6 student, Chloe Hawes, who will use the scholarhip for additional dance education training to pursue her passion*.

HHS Grade 11 student, Emma McLellan, who will use the funds towards pre-professional dance training with The School of Cadence Ballet*.

HHS Grade 11 student, Gwynne Daynard, who will seek further vocal music education with the Burlington Music School with the funds from this scholarship*.

Pine Glen Public School Grade 6 student, Sophie Mann, who is excited to further her musical development with Hub Productions with funds from this scholarship*.

The Huntsville Festival of the Arts also supports visual arts students through the Kareen Burns HFA Scholarship. The 2022 award recipient is HHS Grade 12 student, Sydney Brinklow, to is headed to the Ontario College of Art & Design*.
