On April 25, Grade 7 and 8 students from some schools in the City of Kawartha Lakes participated in the Skilled Trades Day for Young Women initiative in partnership with Skills Ontario and Fleming College.
Throughout the day, students took part in various workshops, including urban timber salvage, into the canopy, horizontal directional drilling, and blasthole drilling, which gave them a hands-on learning experience of the programs currently being offered at the campus. These workshops allowed the students to have the opportunity to explore careers connected to the skilled trades.
