Fenelon Falls Secondary School student competes at the OFSAA 2023 Girls’ Golf Tournament

Fenelon Falls Secondary School (FFSS) Grade 10 student, Adaline Ingram recently travelled to Collingwood to compete at the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Associations (OFSAA) 2023 Girls’ Golf Festival.

The tournament, which took place from October 11 to 12 at the Batteaux Creek Golf Club, saw 60 students from schools across the province who had previously qualified at the Central Ontario Secondary Schools Association (COSSA) tournament.

Although the weather did not hold off, Ingram played well, placing 26 out of 60. Her coach, Dave King, said she had two consistently well-played rounds, and even beat her OFSAA 2022 score by 47 strokes over the two day, 36 hole tournament.

“I was really glad to be able to play at OFSAA again this year,” said Ingram. “Even though it was cold and wet, I met some great people and I had a lot of fun.”

King encourages more students to try out and compete in sports that are new to them, such as golf.
