We are excited to announce the After School Skills Development Program, which seeks to offer social skills learning opportunities for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) outside of the school day.
The After School Skills Development Program is made up of four individual programs, each with a specific social skills focus and target age groups. The programs are for students who would benefit from and participate in social skills instruction virtually, using Google Meet and additional support materials provided in a Google Classroom.
Program 1 – Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS)
- Who is this for: Grades 5 to 8
- The program will focus on learning the skills needed to make and keep friends in a virtual group format.
- Length of the program: 10 weeks (January – March 2021)
- Application deadline: December 17, 2020

Program 3 – Social Thinking and Me Skill Development Program
- Who is this for: Grades 3 to 5
- The program will focus on learning the skills needed to develop a deeper understanding of emotions.
- Length of the program: 8 weeks (February – April 2021)
- Application deadline: January 29, 2021
Program 4 – Milo@Home Skill Development Program
- Who is this for: Kindergarten to Grade 2
- The program will focus on a self-regulation module and social skills including greetings, conversations and foundational emotions.
- Length of the program: 14 weeks (March – June 2021)
- Application deadline: February 12, 2021
