2026 Director’s Student Voice Summit

What does the future of learning look like? Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) seeks student voice to help answer this question.

Now in its fourth year, the annual Director’s Student Voice Summit initiative brought together Grade 7 to 10 students for day-long sessions designed to gather valuable perspectives on the Board’s learning environments.

The summit was held over two dates: April 22 at Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute for students from the City of Kawartha Lakes, and May 1 at the Muskoka Education Centre and for students from schools in Haliburton County and the District Municipality of Muskoka.

Throughout the day, students took part in five engaging activities, where they had the opportunity to share student voice through ideas, experiences, and feedback, all while engaging with the director of education, Wes Hahn, and students from other schools.

The TLDSB Student Senate played a big role in the sessions taking the lead on facilitating the activities, ensuring all students felt welcome, comfortable, and able to express themselves.
