Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) recently celebrated student art at the inaugural Better Together Arts Showcase!
At the beginning of the year, students across the Board were challenged to select a medium of visual or performative arts and work individually or collaboratively in a pair, small group, or whole class to create a piece of art in one of four unique categories. Each piece made a connection to the showcase theme, Better Together. A broad collection of these pieces were then selected to be on display at the region showcases.
TLDSB recently hosted three Better Together Arts Showcases at locations in each region of the Board – the City of Kawartha Lakes showcase took place on April 30 at I.E. Weldon Secondary School, the Muskoka showcase on May 2 at the TLDSB Muskoka Education Centre, and the Haliburton showcase on May 7 at the Fleming College, Haliburton Campus.
Thank you to all of the families who came out to celebrate the achievements of the artists. It was a joy to see students presenting their work, explaining how they created it, and enjoying the display of other students’ artwork.
Congratulations to all of the students and staff.
