The Coldest Night of the Year 2021

On February 20, Muskoka Beechgrove Public School (MBPS) staff participated in The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) 2021.

The initiative is a COVID-safe, family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger. Participants traditionally walk together, but this year the team from MBPS walked or snowshoed separately to help keep everyone safe, and they had plenty of fun! Led by their captain, Grade 3/4 Teacher Angela Clubb, the MBPS team far surpassed their goal of $300, raising $1,735 (and counting!) for Gravenhurst Against Poverty (G.A.P.).

G.A.P. is an inclusive, open, and transparent organization with the goal of reducing poverty within the greater Gravenhurst community.

Anyone who wishes to donate can go to CNOY – Gravenhurst and search for TheBeechnuts. Donations are being accepted until the end of the month.

Well done, team MBPS!
