The Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, has declared a third provincial emergency and stay-at-home order.
Effective April 8, the government is issuing a stay-at-home order requiring everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes, as outlined in the provincial news release. This order and other new and existing public health restrictions are in response to the rapid increase in COVID-19 transmission, the threat on the province’s hospital system capacity, and the increasing risks posed to the public by COVID-19 variants.
During the stay-at-home order, all Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) elementary and secondary schools will remain open to staff and students, and in-person learning will continue.
